2173: A New Legacy

In the year 2097, man discovers interstellar space travel. They travel, with their first hyperspace engine, to another solar system, one whose inhabitants do not take kindly to intruders. They call themselves the Kridians; they are humanoid, with a wasp-like heads and are about usually taller than six feet. In year 2138, the war breaks out between the two races; a violent, bloody war that seems like it has no end. Hundreds of ships and millions of individuals have died during this war. It was battled on four fronts: land, sea, air and space. In the year 2164, the war ended, the two species joined forces, shared technology, served aboard each others ships, and so on. They named this alliance The Confederacy. Now, the year 2173, you are an officer aboard the star ship Avenger, a Victory class heavy cruiser, under command of Captain Jack 'Dead-Eye' Logan. Your mission is that of exploration, and first contact with other species, and mapping other systems. Eventually, on October 26, 2173 to be precise, you encounter a strange looking organism, something that looks like a ship, but organic. This is something that nobody has ever seen in their lives, you are the first. It’s small enough to fit in your ship's hangar bay, and is towed aboard. While the ship's scientists and technicians examine it, and the security guards scrutinize it, a small hatch opens on the top. Aliens of unknown origin start pouring out of the hatch and start killing everyone in the hangar bay. The captain orders combat stations. He wants everybody to stay in a group of at least three, go to the armouries, and grab some weapons. Once you're done in the armoury, you head back to the bridge for your next orders.

The Kridians:

Kridians, who resemble humans with giant wasp heads, come from a planet called Kridia, with a population of over 8 trillion individuals. Their physical appearance changes only slightly every Kridian, like antennae length, mandible size, height, build size. The average Kridians lifespan is more than double that of humans, which is approximately over 160 years. Little else is known of the Kridians, even since their alliance. The Kridians have different ways of thinking compared to humans, and can be much more brutal when it comes to weapons. They specialize in using non-solid based weapons, but have been know to produce solid ammo as well, some that would most-likely be banned for use.

The ranking system for space navy crew members(from highest to lowest):

Note: These ranks have nothing to do with existing ranks. I didn't want too many, so I picked a few.

Blue: Medical
Yellow: Engineering/ Technician
Green: Scientist

Pistol: 10 bullets per clip.
Assault Rifle: 80 bullets per clip.
Shotgun: 10 pellets per shell. Can Cary 8 shells at once.
Sniper Rifle: 6 bullets per clip.
Mini-gun: 300 bullets per belt.
Rocket Launcher: Can carry two rockets at once.

Kridian:
Spike thrower: 12 spikes per clip.
Nail rifle: 200 nail per clip.

Liquid Ammo:

Acid launcher: 2 litre tank.

Short bio (Optional, must have location and date of birth.): Born in Vancouver, Canada, Earth, on the 26th of October, 2140. He wanted to be a star ship captain since he was six. When he joined, the war was still going, and getting bloodier by the moment. He got his scar during hand to hand combat with a Kridian soldier. When he became executive officer aboard the star ship Avenger, the war was over. The captain eventually retired, and he gained command of the ship.

I want to see where this can go. I'll make a separate topic for the actual RP, but people can jump in and join at will. Also, after every mission, there will be a second mission that will start. For example, after this event, there will be another which anybody can be a part of. I need at least one other to participate. This is sort of an enhanced version of my old RP like this I posted on another forum. This is like "The Adventures of the Avenger!" because of the ship's name, or something like that. I'm really excited to get this started. I'm going to make it as dark and gritty as possible.

Wow, you have got a lot of time on your hands to write that.
But really no offense, all these "space theme adventure" stories are really all the same. mabye a little difference but not alot. spice the story up a bit ya know? (Ex: dont use plasma for every weapon, make the aliens different from anything ever been thought of)
BAM! YA GOT YOSELF A STORY!

Yeah, too much time, but this was writen before last summer, and I only did a quick review of this ancient RP idea. So far, though, the main bad guys actually would rather rip your limbs out with their bare clwas than use plasma, which is what the good guys use, but I'll change it. They'll be plasma based weapons, because they fire non-linear energy at enemies (fire for example). I'm glad that you criticized that, though, because I recently learned, in my chemistry class, that Plasma is the name for the fourth state that matter can take. It goes like this: Solid, liquid, gas, plasma. Plasma is virtually any energy state, but back then (May 2008), I didn't know that. I've edited everything I wanted to right now, weapons. If there's anything you want me to add to weapons, or have a suggestion, please, I would like to see them.

He has a medical degree and some combat training, though to what extent no one is sure of except for him.

Sweet, someone. I'm going to rip off my old start with a slightly new one, and do this similarly. I don't know how it's going to turn out, but we'll see. I'll post the topic for the active play tomorrow.

Yea well ive had some ideas for futuristic weapons, and i realized not every gun is gonna be "laserified" so how bout somthing with bullet catriges like today but with... heated magnesium rounds (like saebo rounds fired off of heavy artillery air ships today) but have them in smg's and infantry weapons. AND A SPACE CANNON! eVERYONE LIKES THE SPACE CANNON! but if youve played battlefield 2142 then youll see what im talking about

Background:He was a fast food worker but then killed with a grenade and then buried next to a radioactive plant\ ninja school and came back to life when the war started. He likes explosions because when the grenade exploded in his face he thought is was the most beautilful thing he'd ever seen.

I think the only species allowed are either
human or kridian. You might want to be the aliens; they have serrated knives as weapons.

Yeah, he's right, no zombies, they scare the crap out of me and I enjoy using them for plot twists. If this was an RPG on SSLF, you'd be royaly rejeted, not that I'm going to do that here, since it's a small comunity, but all I'm saying is, this ain't the 'Ultimate War!' topic, there are rules.

I can't change what's not mine. I said YOU should change YOUR entry. I can make your guy become the closest thing to a zombie, though. During the course of the RPG, I can do that, but only at one given time. Until then, you could start out human or something.
